MTL forms Industrial Networks group to support emerging technologies2006 10 02
MTL have announced the formation of an Industrial Networks group within the Hazardous Area Business Unit of the company. With the increasing role that open systems and digital communication components have in modern control systems, MTL has formed this team, under the direction of Ian Verhappen, to provide the support mechanisms warranted by such mission-critical processes.
Dr Graeme Philp, Chief Executive of MTL added, “The Executive Committee of MTL recognized the market trend and need for a single source solution to all your automation connection needs so I am pleased that we are able to offer an expanding range products and services to our customers. This continues to reinforce MTL’s position as a key supplier of open system components and the required level of knowledge on how to implement this key technology to the process control industry.”
The formation of this group reinforces MTL’s commitment to open systems being deployed in digital communications such as Foundation Fieldbus, Industrial Ethernet, and wireless access systems. The Industrial Networks group will provide complete network solutions for the process automation industry and be based in Alberta , Canada with regional support in Europe, USA , and Asia-Pacific.
