MTL and Weidmuller announce

MTL and Weidmuller have today announced a bilateral co-operation agreement which is aimed at strengthening both companies’ customer service in the industrial automation sector. MTL will become Weidmuller’s specialist sales channel to serve the process control industries worldwide, working alongside Weidmuller’s existing sales channel. MTL will sell and support Weidmuller products in the process control sector and Weidmuller will similarly, sell and support appropriate MTL products in the factory automation sector.

Both companies have noted a trend in the industrial automation community for system builders to demand a full range of interconnect products from their key suppliers and often for these components to be assembled into factory-tested units prior to delivery to site.

MTL and Weidmuller are seizing this opportunity to reinforce their respective positions as premier suppliers of interconnect and open system components to DCS companies, system integrators and end-users as the industry gradually moves away from the use of proprietary products and towards commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components.
