In the ‹Status› window under the ‹Diagnostic› menu there is a facility to look at the error messages that have occurred if the interface module is in exception or causing problems. The message is displayed as a hexadecimal value with the following types of errors (where for example value $03 means two errors: $02 + $01):
· $01 – input signal outside of the measuring range.
· $02 – cold junction out of range.
· $08 – current output ‹frozen›.
· $10 – more status data detected.
· $20 – cold start (reset) detected.
· $04 – current output halted.
· $40 – configuration changed.
· $80 – device is defective.
The message ‹device defective› ($80) will also show up if there is a power failure while programming. Until the configuration is corrected, the module will remain in the defective mode. An error is indicated on the interface module by a flashing green ‹PWR LED› or the ‹FLT LED›.
The messages $01 to $40 do not reflect a defect but only information about the reason for the exception or disturbance.
