This tool automatically checks the design of fieldbus segments using MTL Fieldbus Barriers. Warning messages will be displayed if any of the input or calculated parameters are out of range. Start by selecting the 'Project Settings' page, where you can enter the fieldbus power supply output parameters, cable type, number of Fieldbus Barriers per segment, trunk and spur cable length and field device current. For normal applications, select one field device per spur. The 'Segment layout' page displays the segment arrangement, where you can add or remove Fieldbus Barriers, change the Fieldbus Barrier type and modify the design parameters. Use the 'Short circuit test' tab to check that the segment design is still viable when any one spur is in a short-circuit condition. The 'Reset values' tab resets all changes that have been made in the 'Segment layout' page, and reverts to those in the 'Project Settings' page.

followed by "Segment layout ". |

Select Fieldbus Barrier type (9301-FB = bus powered; 9302-FB = separately powered)
Update all spur currents. |

Go to the next field using the "TAB" key. |

Push the "Add Fieldbus Barrier " button to increase Fieldbus Barrier number (up to 6).
Push the "Delete Fieldbus Barrier " button to reduce the Fieldbus Barrier number by one. |

Current and voltage values will automatically be updated. |

Warnings and errors will be displayed in the left frame. |
