MTL announces today the
signing of a global OEM agreement with Emerson Process
Management giving MTL’s customers the choice of
sourcing Emerson’s AMS predictive maintenance software
with MTL intrinsically safe interfaces, distributed I/O
and open system components from the worldwide MTL distribution
network.
AMS is a predictive maintenance software application for
the process industry that enables users to monitor and
diagnose control valve and field instrument ills before
they lead to costly problems. AMS can capture and use
diagnostic data from HART field instruments and valves
via the MTL HART connection hardware. This allows users
to realise the full potential of their field devices to
optimise plant assets, which results in significant operations
improvement and direct maintenance savings.
MTL currently offer AMS connectivity via the MTL4840 for
traditional I/O applications and through the MTL8000 for
remote I/O solutions. With this agreement MTL can now
supply the industry standard AMS software with the market
leading MTL HART Maintenance System hardware. Emerson
Process Management will offer full Foundation Support
for AMS when used with either MTL system. As an added
bonus the MTL4840 HART Maintenance System has been certified
to IEC61508 (SIL rating 3). By incorporating an MTL HART
multiplexer that has already been assessed as a safety
related sub-system (SIL rated 3), AMS users can be reassured
that their approach to safety issues is backed by internationally
accepted and recognised guidelines for safety systems
design. The combination of SIL certified MTL hardware and
the powerful AMS software will allow End Users, Contractors
and OEM’s to realise the full potential of their
field devices and save on commissioning, maintenance and
documentation costs. |
