Eaton is proud to announce the launch of the new range of IS Ethernet based products; MTL RugiCAM-IP high definition (HD) IS Ethernet network camera and 9492/3-PS MTL IS power supply range.

The first of its kind for the hazardous area market, the MTL RugiCAM-IP is ideal for remote monitoring using Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity and provides enhanced safety with clear visualisation of conditions in the process area.

It is lightweight, connecting directly to compatible IS Ethernet systems up to 100 metres via a Cat5e cable or WiFi, and it allows for quick and easy maintenance, therefore enabling plants to save time and associated costs.

MTL RugiCAM-IP key features:

  • Suitable for Zone 0,1 and 2 hazardous area mounting
  • Lightweight, compact and rugged for easy installation with 6mm toughened glass
  • Flexible connectivity options for easy integration – Cat5e cable/WiFi
  • IS approval allows for safe, live network maintenance
  • HD resolution of 1080P and enhanced image analysis
  • Optional extras include Infra-Red (IR) or white LED light for low light applications

The 9492-PS-PLUS MTL intrinsically safe (IS) isolated power supply is ideal for providing power to the MTL RugiCAM-IP and the 9493-PS-xxx range is ideal for powering instrumentation in hazardous process areas. The 9492-PS-PLUS can be used with the 946x-ET range of MTL IS Ethernet devices to provide direct power or IS Power over Ethernet (PoEx™), a method which allows a single cable to provide both the data connection and electrical power to devices, in turn, reducing installation costs. Additionally, it is ideal for instrumentation OEMs to power a wide range of IS instrumentation.

9492/3-PS key features:

  • Wide range of output voltages 4.8V - 17.7V for variety of applications
  • Versions for connection into Gas Group IIB or Gas Group IIC hazardous areas
  • Wide operating temperature range of -40 ̊C to +70 ̊C
  • Zone 2, DIN-rail or backplane mounting
  • ATEX / IECEx certified
